TRICONEX 3009 Enhanced Main Processor (UMP) module
Tricon’s control system The main features of Tricon are its highly fault-tolerant programmable and process control technology. Its characteristics are as follows :a. Provides a triple modular redundant structure (TMR) with three identical subcircuits, each of which performs an independent degree of control. There is also a dedicated hardware/software architecture for “voting” on inputs and outputs.
Able to tolerate harsh industrial environment. C. It can be installed on site, and it can be installed and repaired at the module level online on site without interfering with site wiring. D. Supports up to 118 I/O modules (analog and digital) and optional communication modules. Communication modules can be connected to Modbus hosts and slave devices, or to Foxboro and Honeywell Distributed
Control systems (DCS), other Tricons in peer-to-peer networks, and external hosts in TCP/IP networks. E. Remote I/O modules up to 12 km from the mainframe can be supported. F. Develop and debug control programs using programming software based on Windows NT system. G. Intelligent functions in the input and output modules to reduce the workload of the main processor.
Each I/O module has three microprocessors. The input module’s microprocessor filters and fixes the input and diagnoses hardware failures on the module. The output module microprocessor provides information for the voting of the output data, checks the validity of the output state through the feedback loop voltage at the output end, and can diagnose the field line problem. H. Provide comprehensive online diagnostic and repair capabilities.
I. When Tricon is up and running, routine maintenance can be performed without interrupting the control process. J. Provide “hot standby” support for I/O modules, which can be used in certain emergency situations where timely service cannot be provided.
The control system is a management system composed of control subject, control object and control media with its own objectives and functions. Basic concept Control system means by which any quantity of interest or variable in a machine, mechanism or other device can be maintained and changed in a desired manner. The control system is also implemented in order to make the controlled object reach a predetermined ideal state. The control system makes the controlled object tend to some desired stable state.
