RED615 ABB line differential protection and measurement and control device
RED615 IEC line differential protection and measurement and control device, as a split phase, double terminal line differential protection and measurement and control device, can perfectly coordinate the overhead lines and cable feeders of public and industrial distribution networks. RED615 can also be used for line differential applications where an in-area transformer is present in the protected feeder section.
The RED615 units between substations communicate via a fiber-optic line or a twin-pair guide line. RED615 features support for the substation IEC61850 communication standard, covering both vertical and horizontal communications, including GOOSE messages with switching and analog signals, and setting based on IEC 61850-8-1.
The RED615 IEC Line differential Protection and Measurement and control device also supports Modbus®, DNP3, and IEC 60870-5-103 protocols.
RED615 provides an optional Ethernet port for loop self-healing communications.
RED615 is a member of the 615 family of ABB Relion® products.
