Trusted Communication Interface (CI) is an intelligent module that provides a series of communication services for trusted controllers, minimizing the communication load modular redundancy (TMR) processors of triples. Cl is a user configurable module that can support a variety of communication media. A trusted system supports up to four communication interfaces (ci).

1.3.1. Hardware The module has a MOTOROLA Power PC processor. The boot software is stored in erasable Programmable read-only memory (GPROM). The operation firmware is stored in memory in fash and can be upgraded through the front panel port. Trusted operating systems are used on both TMR processors and CI. Real-time kernel is a kind of high speed and high function kernel designed for fault-tolerant distributed system. The kernel provides basic services (such as memory management) and does not interfere with the software environment. The module watchdog monitors the operation of the processor and the output voltage of the PSU. The module provides dual redundancy +24Vdc power supply to feed the bottom switch from the chassis. Onboard power supply unit provides voltage conversion, power supply regulation and protection. The Trusted Cl communicates with the Trusted TMR processor via the triple module interbus. When the trusted TMR processor polls, the module’s bus interface votes. Two-thirds (2oo3) of the data comes from the intermodule bus and is transmitted back through all to its reply three intermodule bus channels. The rest of the communication interface is a simplex. All communication transceivers are electrically isolated from each other and modules and have additional transient protection measures. The internal power supply of the module is isolated from the dual 24Vdc power supply.
