The Bently Nevada 3500/61 163179-02 Tachometer Module is a 2 channel module, 3500/61 163179-02 which accepts input from a proximity probe or magnetic sensor (unless otherwise specified) to determine shaft speed, rotor acceleration or rotor direction, compare these measurements to user-programmable alarm set points, and generate alarms when these set points are violated.

The Bently Nevada 3500/61 163179-02 Tachometer Module is programmed using the 3500 Rack Configuration Software and can be configured with four different options: 1. Speed Monitoring, Setpoint Alarm and Speed Band Alarm. 2. Speed monitoring, set point alarm and zero speed notification. 3. Speed monitoring, set point alarm and rotor acceleration alarm. 4. Speed monitoring, set point alarm and reverse notification.
The Bently Nevada 3500/61 163179-02 Tachometer Module can be configured to provide a conditioned Keyphasor signal to the backplane of the 3500 rack for use by other monitors, eliminating the need for a separate Keyphasor module in the rack. The Bently Nevada 3500/61 163179-02 Tachometer Module also features a peak hold function that stores the top speed, top reverse speed, or number of reverse rotations (depending on channel type selected) the machine achieved. These peaks can be reset by the user.
