The new MIDB plant in Pouso Alegre, Minas state, is said to be more than 70,000 square meters and capable of producing 1.3 million units a year. The factory will incorporate a large number of digital production technologies and innovative technologies, and the first batch of smart refrigerators will be rolled out and sold in July next year. In addition to the local market, the products will also be sold to other markets in South America.
Bauso Mayor Renato Andrade Garcia, who attended the ceremony, thanked Midea for her faith in the city’s development. Garcia said the investment will surely bring new economic growth points to Bauso and further boost the development of the local community. To match Midea’s investment, the Bauso municipal government is accelerating the construction of local infrastructure, hoping to attract more international large enterprises like Midea and bring more job opportunities to the local people.
Brazil is the largest white goods market in South America and one of the largest in the world. As one of its key overseas strategic markets, Midea already has two factories in Brazil, one in Manaus, which makes home air conditioners and microwave ovens, and one in Canoas, which makes commercial air conditioners.
