The TRICON 3701 Analog Input (AI) module consists of three separate input channels. Each input channel receives a variable voltage signal from each point, converts it into digital values, and transmits these values to the three main processor modules as needed. In TMR mode, a value is then selected using the median selection algorithm to ensure the correct data for each scan.

Sensing of each input point to perform the analog input module in a manner that prevents A requires a separate external terminal panel (ETP) with cable interfaces to the tricon backplane.
