Highway Addressable Remote Sensor (HART) is an industry standard fieldbus protocol frequency keying (FSK) signal to a 4-20 mA loop. The Tricon 2071H HART multiplexer module, which is incorporated into each HART interface module by capacitatively coupling HART signals to AI or AO signals. HART signal is about ±0.5 mA at 1200 2200 Hz. These frequencies are high enough that low bandwidth loops are not affected and HART electronics can apply and extract HART signals easily. HART communication via HART multiplexer with Tricon system and certified not to interfere with 4 ~ 20ma safe analog input and analog signal output modules. Only Tricon v10.4 is available. X and later systems can use HART interface module; Earlier Tricon systems had to be upgraded to Tricon v10.4.x. Chassis using HART interfaces require modules in the system to be upgraded to Tricon v10.4. X varies depending on the original system version, such as Tricon chassis using HART communication tables.
Designed for the most critical applications, the monitor Digital Output (SDO) module meets the needs of a system whose output remains in a single state over a long period of time (in some areas of the application, for years). The SDO module receives output signals from each of the three main processor channels. Each group of three signals is then voted on by a fully fault-tolerant person. The four-fold output switch element has a mechanical power relay, and a voting output signal passes through to the field terminal. Each SDO module has voltage and current loopback circuit coupling
Sophisticated online diagnostics verify the presence of each output operating switch, field circuit and load. The design provides full fault coverage needed to affect the output signal. These modules are called “supervisory” modules.
Because fault coverage is extended to include potential field problems. In other words, the field circuit is overseen by the SDO module so that the following field failures can be detected:
• Power failure or blown fuse
• Turn on or lose load
• A short circuit causes the load to be powered on incorrectly
• Short-circuit load when the power is off
Unable to detect any field voltage output point for the power alarm supply indicator. The load alarm indicator cannot be detected. When an optional auxiliary component power supply is in use, the short-circuited load enters a state that can be detected as Off. (No 3611E AC module is provided on this model.) All SDO modules support hot spare capabilities, which require a separate cable interface from the external terminal panel (ETPTricon backplane).
