These application instructions are guidelines for the application of the G123-825 buffer amplifier. They will tell you how to install, connect and adjust the buffer amplifier. They don’t tell you how to design a closed-loop system that uses it.
2 Description
The G123-825 buffer amplifier offers two types of interfaces and filters.
2.1 PLC±10V and 4-20mA It is the interface between standard PLC analog output modules with Moog valves on one side and Moog valves on the other. It simplifies the use of PLC in closed loop. Buffering amplifier solves the common problem in circuit 4-20mA or ±10V PLC output incompatible with valve drive requirements.
It is connected to the current output of the servo amplifier with a moog valve on one side and a Moog valve on the other. This allows the old mechanical feedback (mfb) valves to be replaced by modern valves for electrical feedback (efb) servos and proportional valves without changing the servo amplifier. The buffer amplifier takes the existing servo amplifier output and converts it into an efb compatible signal.
The buffer amplifier provides a filter to remove the noise input signal.
3.1 The position of a horizontal DIN rail, an industrial steel housing mounted on the vertical rear surface, is intended for an increasing number of methods. The G123-825 derailment card should be facing forward and down, so the front panel and terminal identification are readable, so the internal electronics receive cooling airflow. An important consideration for module placement is electromagnetic interference (EMI) from other enclosures within the device. For example, VF and AC servo drives can produce high levels of electromagnetic interference. Always check the EMC before placing the G123-825, please check other equipment for compliance in the vicinity.
Vents on the upper and lower sides of the G123-825 housing provide cooling for internal electronics. These vents should be kept awake. It is important to ensure that the equipment below does not produce the hot exhaust that heats the G123-825.
