Enterasys A2H254-16 P0973BK is a high-performance, fast Ethernet edge switch that delivers

scalable line-rate performance to support the bandwidth-intensive and delay-sensitive requirements of today’s demanding applications. A2 support
8000 MAC addresses, an excellent choice for environments that require full multilayer switching

capabilities and support for high-density (10/100Base-T, 100Base-FX) Ethernet ports. A2H254-16

P0973BK is great for 100mbps networks and may also require Gigabit Ethernet uplink connections.

In addition to full multi-layer switching capability, A2 provides multi-layer packet sorting and priority queuing for differentiated services.
In addition to a 17.6 Gbps switching capacity, the A2H254-16 P0973BK offers up to 48 10/100Base-T

or 24 100Base-FX Ethernet ports as well as two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports for uplink or stack connections.

Up to eight A2s can be interconnected in a stack to create a virtual switch that provides a capacity of

140.8Gbps, up to 38410/100Base-T or 192 100Base-FX Ethernet ports, and 32 10/100/1000 Ethernet

ports for uplink or stack connections. Robust Quality of Service (QoS) features provide powerful support for

integrated multimedia networks (including Voiceover lP(VolP) and video) and all types of data-intensive applications.
A2H254-16 P0973BK provides eight hardware-based priority queues per Ethernet port to support a set of

differentiated services with up to eight different priorities. Combined with its non-blocking L2 switching architecture,

A2’s intelligent queuing mechanism ensures priority access to network resources for mission-critical applications. A2

provides a secure network by leveraging its authentication and security features, which can be applied at the port level or the user level.
A2H254-16 P0973BK supports one user/device per port and can be authenticated by IEEE 802.1X or MAC

address. The a Series offers high-end mouth density in a 1u footprint that is environmentally friendly in design.

By maximizing port density in a given amount of rack space, A2 minimizes its cooling requirements. A2’s overall

electrical requirements are further reduced through low current consumption and extreme tolerance to high ambient
