ABB S800 I/O Overview
ABB S800 I/O is a fully distributed modular processing I/O system that connects the master controller to the PLC(program logic control system) via an industry standard fieldbus. Due to its extensive connectivity, it is suitable for a variety of processing controllers and PLCS made by ABB and others. Because it can be installed on-site, close to sensors and actuators, the S800 I/O reduces installation costs by reducing the cost of laying cables. Thanks to features such as module “hot swap”, “leap” reconfiguration and redundancy options.
Switching quantity I/O modules:
All I/O modules have isolation from rack ground current, all modules have indicators indicating channel status and module status, and some output modules and intrinsic safety modules have channel error status indicators.
The S800 24/48VDCI/O module consists of two isolated groups of eight channels each. Each group has a field power state input signal to monitor the field power supply. When the field power supply fails, the module warning light will turn on, the module will be in the alarm state and the corresponding channel will be set to the error state. 120/250VAC or DC, 0 module with channel isolation.
The input module can configure whether to monitor the field power status.
The S800L I/O 24VDC module is a set of 16 channels. The input module allows you to configure whether to monitor the field power status and set the module warning and channel error status for power failure.
