The 3500/42M Proximitor*/Seismic Monitor is a 4-channel monitor that takes input from proximity sensors and seismic sensors, modulates the signal to provide various vibration and position measurements, and compares the modulated signal to user-programmable alerts. Each channel of 3500/42m can be programmed by the user using 3500 rack configuration software to perform any of the following functions:
• Radial vibration • thrust position • expansion difference • eccentricity • REBAM* • Acceleration • Velocity • absolute value of shaft • circular acceptance region
The main purpose of the 3500/42M monitor is to provide: 1. Protect the machine by continuously comparing the monitoring parameters with the configured alarm setting points to drive the alarm. 2. Basic machine information of operation and maintenance personnel. Depending on the configuration, each channel typically adjusts its input signal to generate various parameters called “static values.” Users can configure alert setting points for each active static value and danger setting points for any two active static values.
