Digital services can effectively monitor hoists and their performance, helping customers increase uptime and productivity
Rapid analysis and deeper insight into hoist health are provided through a user-friendly interface and cloud-based dashboard application
New KPI Settings based on customer and ABB experts help avoid time-consuming and costly unplanned downtime
To meet the increasing digital needs of the mining industry, global technology leader ABB has launched a new version of its ABB Ability machine performance optimization solution. This upgrade further enhances the predictive analytics capabilities of the service, enabling a state-based maintenance mode for improved performance optimization.
In addition to the many benefits of previous versions, ABB Ability Performance Optimization Solution 3.1 provides actionable information related to key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to detect any equipment anomalies during operation in advance, thereby extending mine elevator uptime and improving availability, performance and productivity. Powered by the ABB Ability™ Edgenius dashboard application, the ABB Ability elevator performance optimization solution provides rapid analysis and insight into the operational status of each mine.
The new ABB Ability™ performance optimization solution includes several new KPI Settings based on customer and ABB experts’ input
The new version has updated the KPI setting based on the opinions of customers and ABB experts, and added a number of parameters such as maintenance elevator availability, elevator cycle statistics, EMS statistics, brake caliper spring action times, accumulator pre-charge pressure, deceleration changes, guide rope tension, crawling distance and clutch time. In addition, it includes cybersecurity assessment capabilities and solutions to protect customer data.
Predictive analysis of mine hoist status can effectively prevent time-consuming and costly unplanned downtime during operation. The system automatically collects, categorizes, and manages data, which is then monitored and analyzed for safety to generate actionable insights to help improve production performance, identify safety hazards, and optimize maintenance schedules. ABB experts can use this data to analyze, identify potential problems ahead of time, and intervene as needed, dramatically improving equipment availability and the overall safety of mining operations.
