The NORD ECO BOX measures the energy consumption of each drive system in detail and performs extensive data analysis.

Jorg Niermann, Head of Marketing at NorD, explains: “The first step is to collect measurements comprehensively. The NORD ECO BOX contains an energy measuring device that measures the current and voltage of the drive system. By determining effective or ineffective power, i.e. the energy actually used or not used, the relative power factor can be calculated.”

After the NORD ECO BOX is installed between the drive system and the power supply, data such as permanent load, load peak and abnormal status can be recorded for two months. In this way, a high density of data is generated throughout the measurement cycle, which can identify patterns and random outliers to create a load cycle for the entire system.

Data evaluation

Once the survey is complete, Nord will evaluate the data. Customers receive a PDF evaluation report with key data.

In the evaluation report, a large amount of data can accurately determine whether the size of the drive system meets the application requirements, or whether the size is too large, which is particularly important when optimizing energy efficiency.

For large systems such as internal logistics transportation systems, NORD ECO services not only help them optimize the energy consumption of each drive system, but also reduce the number of different systems. This helps further streamline production, logistics, warehousing and service processes. Upon receipt of the evaluation data, the customer will also receive a proposal for NORD’s efficient drive solution. The energy balance of NORD solutions will also be recorded in further measurements, and customers will be able to see the efficiency gains in writing.
