The safety verification services offered by Pielmagnetic for plants and machines can now be tailored to your needs, choosing from three different levels of verification. This guarantees efficient service for individual needs, allowing plants and machines to be designed to meet standards and for maximum safety.
After risk assessment, safety concept establishment, safety design and system implementation, safety verification is the final step to achieve plant and machine safety commissioning. Its purpose is to ensure the correct implementation of protective measures and the full operation of safety systems. International standards such as ISO 13849, IEC62061 and IEC 61508 form the basis for security verification. These standards state that the machine manufacturer or operator must periodically confirm that the safety design has been properly implemented.
However, depending on the specific application, the requirements may vary: are additional machines of an already verified type involved? Have any minor changes been made to the machine? Or have complex and significant changes been made to the
machine, and therefore have to be CE certified again? What level of validation is appropriate in each case?
Peer Magnetic offers tailor-made verification support and has expanded its range of machinery safety services. John McAuliffe, Vice President, International Services Group, Piermagnetic, said: “The validation we have provided so far is a complete portfolio of services.” “However, in some cases, such as buying a machine from a manufacturer with whom you already have a good working relationship, when the same machine has already been installed or minor changes made to an existing machine, then a pro rata inspection may be sufficient.”
Based on proven methodologies and years of verification expertise, automation specialist Piermagnetic now offers independent security verification of different ranges. Manufacturers and operators are able to obtain validation that individually meets their individual needs, as well as confirmation of compliance with relevant standards, which means more efficiency in the implementation process.
Three customized levels
Level 1 verification contains a basic check highlighting critical nonconformities, and Level 2 carries out a more thorough check, especially in terms of functional safety, which guarantees that the machine provides adequate safety measures. The Level 3 verification service is an in-depth, detailed compliance check, which is also CE compliant. At all three levels, machine manufacturers and operators benefit from the expertise of Peer experts.
