ABB Electric released more than 20 innovative products to empower key industries to transform energy and help users meet energy challenges
ABB’s century-old innovation road witnessed important milestones: the revolutionary DC solid-state circuit breaker was launched in China, the new world of DC application was opened, the local capability of the digital cloud platform was jumped, the 100th anniversary of the invention of modern micro circuit breaker was launched, and the one million ring network cabinet was launched
Seize the opportunity of the era of “electrification of everything”, and drive the construction of new power systems and new energy systems with innovative technologies
ABB Electrical Innovation Week 2024 was held in Xiamen on January 9 with the theme of “Energy Future, Innovation-driven”, which aims to interpret the opportunities and challenges of the energy future, reveal the key to the energy revolution, and point out the development path of energy transformation. Through the opening forum, keynote speech, innovative product solution release and display, and industry forum, the event fully demonstrated ABB’s key role in energy transformation, focused on hot topics in green energy, green building, green industry, green data center and other industries, and built key scenarios in key industries with new power systems as the carrier. Accelerate the delivery of digital value and drive the transition to a net-zero energy future.
Morten Wierod, ABB’s global President of Electrification, said: “We continue to capture opportunities for growth in the context of accelerating global electrification. The growing quest for a low-carbon future means greater energy efficiency, more renewable energy and a more resilient power grid. In China, we are committed to helping our customers decarbonize while maintaining business growth through innovation, collaboration, partnerships and innovative technologies.”
Jurg Burri, Swiss Ambassador to China, said: Innovation and individual participation are the key to sustainable development. Both countries attach great importance to innovation, and the innovation-based partnership between the two countries is increasingly important. I look forward to working with you for a smarter and more sustainable future!
Zhuang Rongliang, Deputy mayor of Xiamen, said: At present, Xiamen is accelerating the construction of a “4+4+6” modern industrial system, forward-looking layout of new information technology, new energy, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing and other new track, accelerate the construction of 5G network, intelligent computing center and other new infrastructure, constantly expand the high-quality development space of the industry, and strive to promote the high-end, intelligent and green development of the industry. This is in line with ABB’s development direction and philosophy. It is hoped that ABB will continue to expand its R&D and industrial layout in Xiamen, increase the transformation of innovation results, and actively participate in Xiamen’s high-end equipment manufacturing construction and digital transformation, so as to help the city’s low-carbon development.
Opportunities and challenges for the energy future
In the opening forum held on January 9, more than 200 government leaders, opinion leaders, industry association experts, business representatives, partners and end users gathered to exchange and discuss the “opportunities and challenges of the energy future”.
Li Junfeng, founding director of the National Center for Strategic Research and International Cooperation on Climate Change, said: “The essence of energy transition is a process from resource dependence to technology dependence, and development and innovation can make China’s energy system and energy system truly change.” The construction of new energy systems is the key to transformation and a major investment opportunity. We will promote the development of the energy system through the innovation of the technology itself and the market mechanism, and establish a clean, intelligent and safe energy system to meet the continuous growth of high-quality electricity demand brought by economic development and the improvement of people’s living standards.”
Shen Yuxiang, chairman of the Building Electrical Branch of the Architectural Society of China and chief engineer of Huajian Group, said: “In the new pattern of low-carbon development, building electrical design is facing many challenges, therefore, the design needs to fully consider the new requirements of building energy conservation and green building development, the use of clean energy technology, light storage direct soft technology, building load flexible regulation technology, etc., relying on smart building brain to overcome these challenges, and create a smart building with harmonious coexistence with the environment. To realize the interaction with the new power system, improve the absorption capacity of new energy, enhance the comfort and experience of living, and jointly meet the arrival of the era of carbon neutrality.”
