On June 4th, the housewarming ceremony of Beijing Xiaomi Robotics Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Xiaomi Robotics”) was held in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone (Yizhuang, Beijing), where Xiaomi’s second-generation biomimetic quadruped robot CyberDog 2 presented an impromptu dance on site. “This housewarming ceremony is an important moment, representing the mutual achievements of Beijing Yizhuang and Xiaomi, and will work together to promote technological innovation and development in the robotics industry,” said the person in charge of the Beijing Economic Development Zone. As an important gathering place for the robotics industry in Beijing, Beijing Yizhuang has formed a complete robot industry chain system covering core components, whole machines, and applications. It has established the first provincial-level humanoid robot innovation center in China and the Beijing Humanoid Robot Industry Alliance. It has gathered a group of humanoid robot enterprises led by Xiaomi Robotics and Youbixuan, and released the world’s first fully sized humanoid robot “Tiangong” that is purely electric driven and runs like a human. With the official relocation of Xiaomi Robotics, it will further empower the industrial ecosystem with technological innovation, enhance the independent innovation ability and industrial competitiveness of humanoid robots.

Humanoid robots are the pinnacle of the integration of software, hardware, and artificial intelligence, playing a huge driving role in the upgrading of manufacturing and service industries. At present, Xiaomi Robotics is promoting the phased implementation of humanoid robots in its own manufacturing system. In the short term, Xiaomi Robotics is a specialized intelligent robot that is applied in certain scenarios of intelligent manufacturing and will expand to more scenarios in the future. Regarding the latest progress in Xiaomi’s robotics business, the Vice Chairman of Xiaomi Group’s Technical Committee and the General Manager of Xiaomi Robotics Company have introduced that “industrial, service and other scenarios are the main application directions.” Currently, Xiaomi has released the four legged bionic robot CyberDog, the full-size humanoid bionic robot CyberOne, and the new bionic four legged robot CyberDog2. CyberDog2 can provide autonomous feedback on human movements, voice and other instructions like real dogs, and complete basic movements such as forward jumping, backward jumping, obstacle avoidance, as well as complex movements such as backward somersaults and spacewalks.

Next, Xiaomi Robotics will continue to promote product innovation, empower the industrial ecosystem with open source platforms and complete toolchains, and drive the coordinated development of industry chain enterprises through whole machine traction; At the same time, by expanding application scenarios and achieving cluster integration development with industries such as automobiles, machinery, electronics, and artificial intelligence, it will be built as the first demonstration project for the research and development, manufacturing, and application of universal humanoid robot products in Beijing.
