National Instruments has introduced a new embedded controller for the PXI Express system, the PXIe-8861, which is based on Intel Xeon E3-1515M v5 processor and has 2.8 GHz quad-core processing capability. It also supports Turbo frequencies up to 3.7 GHz. This 2.8GHz quad-core PXI controller is designed for processor-intensive RF, modular instrumentation and data acquisition applications to meet the demands of high-speed data processing and complex control tasks.

The PXIe-8861 controller includes a wealth of interfaces, such as two 10/100/1000BASE-TX Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, as well as an integrated hard drive, serial ports, two Thunderbolt™3 ports, and other peripheral I/O. These interfaces provide a wide range of connectivity options, making it easy for the PXIe-8861 to interact with a variety of external devices and instruments.

In addition, the PXIe-8861 features a modular design that supports PXI high-speed systems and provides computing and peripheral IO capabilities for a variety of modular instrumentation and data acquisition applications.
