“Heaven and earth are Yin, temperature is rain, cold is snow, when the words are small, the cold is not deep and the snow is not big.” This is Xiao Jingwei’s description of light snow. “Light snow” is a metaphor to reflect the active cold current and increasing precipitation during this solar term.

Eat ciba
Zi ba is a festival delicacy in southern China. It was originally made by peasants as an offering to the cow god. There is a saying “in October, Zi ba Lu Lu burn”, is referring to the sacrificial events.
Sun-dried fish
In light snow, fishermen start drying fish and storing dry food. Taiwan common proverb: October beans, fat to see the head, refers to the lunar October can catch “bean larvae”.
Preserved preserved meat
Folk: “winter wax wind salt, storage with the imperial winter” custom. Farmers began to make sausages and bacon, and stored the excess meat in the traditional way.
