Function Description
GE Ethernet/IONet switch ESWB comes in five versions (H1A to H5A), the difference being the type of fiber ports they can include, such as none, multi-mode, or single-mode (longer distance) ports.
Depending on the hardware form (ESWA or ESWB) and the selected DIN rail mounting direction, the ESWx switch can be DIN rail mounted using one of three GE-certified DIN rail mounting clips. The following table Outlines the individual ordering of clips. Each switch has mounting screws.
An input voltage plunge, also known as a power drop, may cause the ESWB I/O network (IONet) switch to restart incorrectly and in some cases fail to re-establish communication with the system. If the ESWB switch is powered off and the input 28 V line is lowered below the minimum operating voltage but not fully lowered to 0 V, the switch may fail to restart when the input voltage is restored to above the minimum operating voltage.
If this happens, the ESWB LED will remain on, flash synchronously, or scroll from side to side, and the switch will not be reconnected. If the site experiences a power outage, check the LED in front of the switch after the voltage is restored and IONet has lost communication. If they are stable, blinking synchronously, or rolling, restart the switch manually by powering it on in cycles.
