The IS420UCSCH1A is a quad-core 1.2GHz AMD G-series processor. It has been certified for use in dangerous places. This type of installation usually has its own installation requirements. These can be found in GE’s Mark VIe and Mark VIeS Control Systems General Application System Guide (Volume II), GE number GEH-6721.
The IS420UCSCH1A is a standalone controller that uses application-specific control logic for applications in combined-cycle power plants, wind turbines, and steam or gas turbines. The controller has no required jumper Settings or batteries and is built as a single module. It runs and cools without a fan. The device has seven built-in I/O ports to allow expansion and has internal flash memory that can be easily updated. The device is installed in the Mark VIe or VIeS panel. Communication is achieved via PROFINET, EtherCAT, HSSL (high-speed serial link), or onboard I/O networks. The controller uses QNX Neutrino and real-time hypervisor technology to provide this embedded communication capability, as well as EFA technology that allows real-time data transfer over secure connections.
