SIS system introduction
In order to meet the requirements of safe production and hazardous chemical industry, in addition to the production control DCS system, the safety instrument system SIS is also set up in the design process of hazardous chemical system. Its purpose is to ensure the implementation of safe production and the corresponding action in advance when the danger is about to occur, so as to ensure the safety of production and production equipment and avoid the occurrence of dangerous accidents to the greatest extent.
Previously, many functions of SIS were realized in the DCS system, especially in some small or less dangerous low pressure and low temperature production systems. Most functions of emergency shutdown systems were integrated in the production control system, instead of setting SIS system separately. The main reason is that the SIS system is in the consideration of cost under the condition of meeting safety requirements and reducing investment. However, with the occurrence of more and more serious safety accidents in China’s industrial production in recent years, based on the idea that safety is more important than everything, SIS system is a separate safety control system independent of the production control system DCS.
