IC698ETM001 is an Ethernet interface module manufactured by Emerson Automation (formerly GE Fanuc Automation). The module is part of the PACSystem RX7i Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) platform and supports any rack with an IC698ETM001 module to connect to an existing Ethernet

 

Network for data exchange with other controllers in the same network, remote I/O implementation, communication with visualization systems and third-party software and tools such as databases and enterprise software applications.

 

The IC698ETM001 has two (2) Ethernet ports, is capable of transmitting data at a communication speed of 10/100 Mbps, and has automatic sensing. The ports are designed to be physically connected using RJ45 connectors and minimal CAT5 cables. These ports support Daisy chains, allowing linear, star, and ring formation

 

Topology and support for unique or redundant IP addressing. In addition, it has one (1) serial communication port, which is a 9-pin SUB-D connector that supports transmission speeds from 1200 to 115,200 BPS. This port is basically a station manager port that is used to configure the module.

 

IC698ETM001 supports a variety of communication protocols, such as TCP/IP communication services using Service Request Transfer Protocol (SRTP), SRTP clients, MODBUS TCP servers, and MODBUS TCP clients. In addition, the module supports time synchronization with the SNTP time server on the Ethernet.

 

The IC698ETM001 is equipped with a variety of LED indicators to provide an overview of the module’s current state. The indicators are Module Normal, LAN Online, Status, 100, link P1 and 100, link P2. The module is equipped with a dedicated microprocessor that enables the module to perform processing functions at a speed of 200 MHz.

 

The IC698ETM001 module is equipped with different leds to indicate different events. It comes with module OK, LAN ONLINE, STATUS, 100 LINK P1 and 100 LINK P2 leds. It can only hold one IP address at a time.

 

The IC698ETM001 module is equipped with two 10 Base T/100 Base Tx connectors and requires an RJ 45 connector and an 8-pin female connector to establish connections to the bus. An Ethernet module allows Ethernet nodes to be connected in daisy-chain mode. The module has station management and diagnostic tools that are helpful to the operator.

 

The IC698ETM001 module handles redundant IP addressing, communication with the remote control, and time synchronization through the SNTP server. The module can be used to connect directly to the network hub without the need for an external transceiver. It makes it easy to store the application process in its flash memory and can be easily accessed by using the CPU
