With the increasing application of PROFIBUS DP protocol in the industrial market, this product has a wide range of applications. Industries using this technology include:
Configurable I/O backplane size provides optimal performance for remote rack applications
Ladder logic is used for data transfer between the module and the processor. Includes sample ladder files (additional instructions).
Enable CIPconnect. The module supports communication with ProSoft Configuration Builder and FDT comDTM via Ethernet routing using the Rockwell Automation Ethernet interface.
PROFIBUS DP slaves can access the input and output images of the device via up to 122 words of input and output data. The total input and output should not exceed 200 words. These input and output data blocks are mapped by the user in the module’s data memory, allowing maximum flexibility and data transfer with other protocols.
The MVI56 module configuration/debug serial port connects a PC to the module for configuration, status, monitoring and troubleshooting (product ships with serial cable). After editing on the PC, the configuration file is downloaded and stored on the MVI56 module.
PROFIBUS DP slave protocol driver supports PROFIBUS V0 slave implementation, providing powerful data transmission capability between modules and ControlLogix processors. User configurable data mapping and DP port manipulation make this interface an easy-to-use and powerful data transfer tool.
