The ABB SPDSO14 I/O expander bus is a high speed, synchronous, parallel bus. ABB SPDSO14 digital output slave which provides the path between the controller and the I/O modules. The controller sends control functions to the ASI module, and the ASI module provides input data to the controller. The P2 card edge of the ASI module and controller is connected to the bus. The ABB SPDSO14 I/O expansion bus is a parallel signal line located on the backplane of the module mounting unit. A 12-bit shunt placed in a slot on the MMU backplane connects the bus between the controller and the ABB SPDSO14 digital output slave I/O module. Cable assemblies can extend the bus to eight modular mounting units. The ABB SPDSO14 digital output slave controller and its I/O modules form a subsystem within the Harmony Control Unit (HCU). The I/O expander bus between the control subsystem and the ABB SPDSO14 digital output slave I/O subsystem must be separated. Leaving the splitter socket blank or connecting the module mount unit without a cable will separate them.
