Protection application of current monitoring relay
By monitoring electrical parameters, relays can provide you with the insight you need for preventative maintenance or to improve facility efficiency. It could also prevent costly damage to its orbit. For example, an increase in current may indicate that a blockage will burn out the motor unless the current relay is monitoring and stopping the motor. Common applications include:
· Isolate the high tension line from the control line
· Monitoring and troubleshooting control wiring
· Manage mechanical equipment, such as fans, ventilators, pumps, etc
· Alert you to warning signs or risks associated with mechanical equipment, transformers and other electrical equipment
· Correct conditions such as clogging or high load without tripping the motor overload protection
· Detect no-load conditions and shut down equipment (such as pumps) to prevent burnout
· Detect bearing wear, heating element failure, belt slip or damage, shut down equipment and remind maintenance
