Taking mining as an example, mine drainage is a crucial safeguard link for mining operations. In the case that the water-filled deposit has not been completely drained, in order to create a good working environment for the mining work and the health and safety of workers, it is necessary to rely on drainage to ensure the smooth progress of production. However, in recent years, under the influence of extreme weather, heavy rain, flood and other disasters are threatening the production efficiency and operation safety of mines.

A massive flood caused massive damage to the drainage system at one of the mines of a major Indonesian mining company due to extreme weather. The company turned to Wille Group and proposed to rebuild a fully functional “climate-smart solution” drainage system, that is, through climate data and sensor technology, to achieve intelligent perception and control of the production process, in order to improve the flood response ability of the mine.

One of the core challenges of the project was limited access: the remote location of the mine and the pump made it difficult for operators to access the site for equipment inspection and maintenance, so the remote monitoring capability of the pump system was highly required. At the same time, the establishment of a highly integrated intelligent water pump management system, under the premise of ensuring the safety and stable production of the mine, with the help of digital technology to achieve energy saving and consumption reduction, control comprehensive operating costs, is also an important issue of concern to the mining company.
