The MD650 has a body size of 944 x 1194 x 320mm and a maximum speed of 2.2m/s. The introduction of advanced battery and charging technology, charging 30 minutes can run for 8 hours. It complies with the latest international standard ISO3691-4 for industrial AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and will be extended to the existing product lineup in the future. With advanced navigation functions and obstacle avoidance algorithms, it can run smoothly even in narrow passages. The body weighs 220 kg and the battery is 29 kg. Made in the USA.
In the manufacturing field, transportation automation using AGVs and AMRs is gaining ground due to the problem of labor shortage and the development of multi-variety and small-batch production. Omron has developed AMR “LD-60” with a maximum payload of 60kg, “LD-90” with a maximum payload of 90kg, “LD-250” with a maximum payload of 250kg and “HD-1500” with a maximum payload of 250kg. The payload is 1500 kg. More than 4,000 units have been installed in more than 40 countries including the U.S., Europe, and Japan.

In addition to the ability to control up to 100 different mobile robot models with a single system, its high accuracy to overtake each other on the same route, the ability to continuously switch robots to the same spot like a taxi stand, and the ability to charge at the best time is also a feature. In addition, the control software “FLOW Core” can be updated by purchasing additional licenses, so there is no need to update/purchase AMR.
Together with the MD650 and the 900kg payload model scheduled for release in 2023, it will cover the medium payload range, enabling automated transportation of all transportation processes. The market is expanding rapidly, and Omron plans to double AMR sales in the next two years.
