This is called the “precision cloud network” concept, including “distributed precision cloud” and “deterministic precision network” two aspects.
According to Cui Li, the distributed precision cloud has two core concepts: it must support low-cost agile innovation methods, and emphasize the first customization at the edge combined with the customer’s scenario-based needs.
In terms of deterministic precision network, “We believe that the network must be a very important aspect of organic collaboration with the cloud in the future, and many industrial scenes must have network protection, which is why we mention the small particle hard slice of the carrying part in the deterministic precision network, including uplink bandwidth enhancement and the separate reservation of small particle resources.” But in fact, the cloud and the network are organically integrated, the cloud is on demand, focusing on the final scene, and gradually enriching the cloud services in the reverse; The network moves with the cloud, and the network fully coordinates with the cloud to achieve the ultimate goal.” She continued.
Cui Li pointed out that in fact, when the pan-5G technology led by 5G drives the transformation and upgrading of the entire industry, there will be two main challenges: certainty and uncertainty.
In terms of certainty, previous generations of communication technologies are mainly for consumers, and 5G technology is the first time to mainly consider the development of applications for the industry. “When you enter the industry, you will find that many scenarios have different requirements for the network. For example, grid distribution needs to be at the microsecond level.” “She said.
Existing 5G networks need some enhancements beyond their current capabilities; In the deterministic network, the standard has been developed, and the specific application version will face the problem. However, Cui believes that this is not the main problem, as long as the problem arises, innovation will emerge to solve the problem.
The core of the uncertainty challenge is the business model, and the industry has not yet fully figured out which solution can really benefit multiple parties.
How to deal with it? It mainly lies in two aspects: first, limited focus on high-value scenarios, can solve bigger problems, reduce greater costs, bring greater benefits, once there is a higher value, the business model is established; Second, when it is not clear what is ultimately needed in the future, low-cost trial and error and rapid iteration are needed, which is the logic of putting forward “accurate cloud network”.
