Kongat, a leading supplier of embedded and edge computing technologies, launched six ultra rugged COM Express compact computer modules based on the 13th generation Intel Core processors. According to design requirements, these six products can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -40 ° C to+85 ° C. The new COM Express Type 6 computer module comes with surface mount memory, which has excellent seismic and impact resistance, and can work normally in harsh environments, fully meeting the highest standards in the field of railway transportation. These six newly launched computer module products are based on Intel’s new microarchitecture codenamed Raptor Lake, targeting manned or unmanned railway and off-road vehicles such as mining, construction, agriculture, forestry, and other mobile applications on bumpy roads. Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) is crucial for digitization, as it can help equipment cope with earthquakes and other critical mission events. Therefore, fixed equipment with excellent seismic and impact resistance, as well as outdoor equipment that can cope with large temperature differences, will be even more important in the future.
The 13th generation Intel Core processor can support up to 14 cores, 20 threads, and is complemented by ultra fast LPDDR5x memory, providing excellent parallel processing and multitasking options for outdoor, railway, and off-road applications within a controllable power
consumption range. This not only improves the efficiency of unit energy consumption and reduces overall energy consumption, but also enhances the sustainability of the entire system design. And all of this is thanks to the first application of Intel’s hybrid architecture in ultra robust design, which introduces two core microarchitectures – high-performance core (P-core) and energy-efficient core (E-core) – into the same processor. In addition, the LPDDR5x memory supports in band error correction codes (IBECC), which can meet the extremely high data integrity requirements of critical task applications without the need for special memory, reducing the number of components required for procurement. Supporting Time Sensitive Networks (TSN) and Time Coordinated Computing (TCC) ensures that the processor can achieve industrial applications.
These six new modules are equipped with Kongat’s high-performance ecosystem, including efficient active and passive cooling solutions; Optional protective coating for moisture-proof, anti-static, vibration and thermal shock resistance; Evaluate the carrier board and its schematic diagram. To achieve virtual machine deployment and workload integration in edge computing scenarios, customers can order modules with pre evaluated hypervisor technology. The hypervisor technology from the Real Time System enables real-time operation without latency. In addition, Kongat’s service products also include seismic and impact testing, temperature screening, high-speed signal matching testing, design services, and all training courses required by customers for customized systems. These services can optimize the use of Kongat embedded computer technology, making Kongat’s entire ecosystem more complete.
