On August 29, the annual ABB B&R Machine Intelligence and Innovation Forum (MIIF) was held in the beautiful coastal city of Qingdao. This year, MIIF focused on “precision automation to promote high-quality development”, bringing together industrial users to discuss the innovation road of equipment manufacturing industry in engineering technology, service and enterprise operation.
The core and connotation of precision automation
In the first speech, Dr. Xiao Weirong, president of B&R Greater China, said that the gathering of B&R MIIF after two years has undergone tremendous changes at home and abroad. With China’s economy entering a stage of high-quality development, today’s Chinese manufacturing is also undergoing tremendous changes, and the production mode is moving toward high-end and personalized; The production mode has higher added value; At the same time, towards sustainable development.
To this end, B&R focuses on precision automation, making Chinese manufacturing back to its essence and more competitive. B&r precision automation is to use digital technology to make machines smarter, through data collection, communication connection, mechanism modeling, learning model, judgment and decision, on-site execution and other multiple means, supplemented by service innovation, ecosystem innovation, and more industry partners to reach a consensus on technological innovation, unified understanding and cognition of manufacturing innovation.
Franz Enhuber, President of B&R Automation, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Precision Automation for high-quality development in Manufacturing”. He said that digitalization covers the transformation of all levels of manufacturing and automation to enable precision automation of production, including: microsecond time accuracy, repeated positioning and process control, predictive maintenance mechanisms, etc.
At the same time, in the phase of Industry 4.0, open-loop control will be transformed into closed-loop control and require the establishment of data links from sensors/actuators to the cloud, industrial Internet of Things and digital factories also put higher demands on extended computing power and storage. In the process of manufacturing rapidly advancing to Industry 4.0, digitalization is the trend of The Times, and we must be a part of it. Robert Kickinger, B&R Greater China Strategy Manager, said in his speech that the current trend and changes in market demand urgently require new technologies and new products, which also provide more opportunities for manufacturers to innovate. In response to many market challenges, devices with adaptive capabilities are increasingly favored by users to help manufacturing customers improve availability and OEE, adapt to flexibility, personalize manufacturing needs, increase productivity density, and provide production traceability.
B&r’s innovative technologies – ACOPOStrak and SuperTrak track technology, planar motor system ACOPOS 6D, high-performance Delta robot Codian, machine vision technology, integrated automation technology are typical examples. B&r’s total solution can bring higher application value to manufacturing companies.
