Bosch Rexroth makes the selection process of cartesian robots easier. In the field of handling, for example, the intelligent reference process in the LinSelect selection software will guide the user to find the best subsystem in the shortest possible time to complete typical gluing tasks such as gluing or sealing. After entering a few parameters, the electronic tool provides specific recommendations to help the user select the right cartesian robot. This recommendation is based on the best achievable technical standards, price and delivery time, which is used as a guide to make product selection operations easier.
Reference processes for handling and gluing robots make digital engineering easier and faster. In order to achieve the best results, Bosch Rexroth, in addition to its own mechatronics and software expertise, also incorporates its practical experience gained from customer projects into the development process.
The new reference process for the gluing task began with the choice of a multi-axis system in the form of a spatial gantry or a horizontal area gantry. After entering a few parameters, the algorithm calculates the best option from more than 50,000 combinations. In this process, a large amount of measurement data and comprehensive practical expertise will be combined with highly complex computational logic.
A few key data points are needed to design a glue-coating robot in a fully automated manner. In addition to speed, the expected contour length, width, and radius are also involved, as well as the cycle time, starting position, and center of gravity of load of the gluing attachment. The complete mechatronics design of the subsystem is then calculated by software with the help of the visual gluing sequence.
After selecting the desired Rexroth automation and drive package, LinSelect will provide specific recommendations for the best technology, lowest price and shortest delivery time in each case. The proposed results can be saved as a project, shared or transferred directly to Bosch Rexroth’s online configurator, where the selected subsystem is re-visualized for 3D real-time preview. Relevant files and CAD data can be downloaded immediately.
Pre-installed operating software speeds up debugging
Once the system selection is completed in LinSelect and the operating software is selected in the online configurator, the parts list is transmitted directly to Rexroth’s production system. Immediate production with standard components in stock minimizes lead times. In the field, pre-installed operating software helps you during the commissioning process and reduces the time required by up to 80%. In addition to the wizards that come with the process, automatic parameterization and axis reference bits, as well as visual ordering based on predefined functional blocks, also play a key role here. The latter includes typical gluing procedures, such as “gluing”, “flushing” or “wiping the needle” procedures. With just a few clicks, mobile monitoring can be activated and data transferred to a higher level quality system.
Bosch Rexroth offers not only the gluing smart function suite, but also other smart function suites for handling tasks, stamping and joining applications. Its mission: to perform typical factory automation tasks faster, easier and more sustainably. The company promotes this goal by combining best-in-class linear technology with automated hardware and intuitive software to create flexible and rapidly deployable subsystems.
All smart function suites can be easily integrated into the production line with off-the-shelf software modules. PROFINET, an open industrial Ethernet standard, is also supported.
