SNCnew Siemens’ first native digital factory project team is composed of technical experts from the German headquarters and more than 100 professionals from China Siemens Avendar Consulting, Siemens Numerical Control (Nanjing) Co., LTD., Siemens Intelligent Infrastructure Group, as well as local construction team.
In three years, the team overcame many difficulties to witness the landing of Siemens’ first native digital factory in the world. The landing of the factory interprets the great potential of Siemens’ digital enterprise solutions with digital twin technology as the core, supports the business development strategy of Siemens’ Motion Control Division in China, and also provides strong digital transformation beliefs and reference solutions to more than 300 external enterprises that have visited one after another. The precise mapping of virtual and real, the successful practice of lean digitalization, let the new factory release great potential. Compared with the old plant, the new plant has increased its average monthly output by 173%, reduced bad costs by 50%, and reduced project costs by 10%. In addition, in terms of energy conservation and carbon reduction, the new plant is expected to save about 5.06 million KWH of electricity, 6,286 cubic meters of water, and reduce carbon emissions by 3,325 tons per year.
SiGREEN China Team
The Siemens SiGREEN China team is composed of experts from Siemens Research Institute, business group, factory front line, sustainable development and other cross-functional personnel. With Chinese speed and international innovation, the team has created a SiGREEN SaaS service platform for carbon footprint actuarial calculation and traceability, built a green and low-carbon ecology with multi-party cooperation throughout the industrial chain, and made every effort to help enterprises develop digitally and low-carbon and high-quality.
Relying on core technological innovations such as edge computing, digital twins, blockchain and AI technology, SiGREEN has been successfully deployed in the Siemens Digital factory to help Siemens Industrial Automation Products (Chengdu) Co., LTD. SIMATIC S7-1500 COMPACT PLC carbon footprint transparency. At the same time, SiGREEN helped Siemens SIMOTICS high-performance permanent magnet synchronous motor to obtain a “carbon neutral verification statement”, becoming the first “carbon neutral product” of Siemens CNC (Nanjing) Co., LTD. In the case of the rapid changes in the policy environment such as carbon border and carbon tariff, and the urgent needs of enterprises to go abroad in terms of carbon emissions, SiGREEN China team quickly created a series of carbon footprint SaaS services for smes, and helped smes achieve a breakthrough of low-carbon transformation “from zero to one”. In addition, in order to support the process of green and low-carbon transformation of smes, SiGREEN has also launched an online cloud version, which has been registered and used by nearly 400 industry customers in just over 20 days. At the same time, the SiGREEN China team explored the business transformation of the platform, built a green ecological platform based on SiGREEN, integrated carbon footprint rapid calculation tool, carbon emission factor database, carbon reduction simulation analysis tool and carbon reduction strategy library, supported third-party product or system access, and relied on scientific and technological innovation and ecological cooperation to create a new growth pole of green business.
