With the theme of “Sail the Future, Join Hands”, the exhibition brought together hundreds of technology companies, manufacturers, solution providers and innovation companies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, showcasing more than 100 components, systems, applications and solutions, focusing on hot areas such as robotics, AIoT (Intelligent Internet of Things) and smart energy.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a mega-urban agglomeration with a total population of more than 86 million and a GDP of about US $1.8 trillion in 2021. It is a very dynamic and robust science and innovation center in China. In order to fully tap the potential of digitalization, decarbonization and electrification, local tech innovation companies have been working to develop more practical and powerful technology solutions, but often face more complex challenges in engineering design and supply chain. Empower innovators

In 2016, Arrow Electronics established its first Open Lab in Hong Kong Science Park. Since then, the lab has become a center of excellence for hundreds of local engineers and makers, helping them solve engineering problems and accelerate the process from idea to prototype to production. In order to provide broader support, Arrow Electronics has also chosen to launch a new open laboratory at the XbotPark Robotics base in Songshan Lake, Dongguan, an industrial city in the Greater Bay Area.

Training robot technology talents

According to the “China Robot Industry Development Report” 2, the value of China’s robot market will reach 17.4 billion US dollars in 2022, with a five-year annual growth rate of 22%. Among them, the industrial robot market is worth $8.7 billion, the service robot market is worth $6.5 billion, and the professional service robot market is worth $2.2 billion.

Benmo Technology is a company located in Dongguan, committed to providing direct drive precision power solutions without reducers, this exhibition showed its self-developed and self-produced wheel foot robot. As a graduate of XbotPark Incubation Project, the products of Benmu Technology mainly serve the domestic robot, industrial/commercial robot, fitness industry and other fields, providing customers with a complete set of solutions from demand customization, program design, commissioning and maintenance. Since 2021, Arrow Electronics has launched a joint incubation training programme with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, and so far Arrow’s engineering team has provided free robotics and artificial intelligence technology training to more than 400 engineers who have participated in the programme. Benmu’s wheeled robot has become one of the open platform tools for the training program.

Hengzhifuture, a consumer robot developer and incubator of the XbotPark incubation project, brought the latest consumer pet robots to the exhibition, showing the attendees more possibilities for the development of intelligent robots.

As the first electronic hardware laboratory in XbotPark, Arrow Electronics Open Lab covers a total area of 1,200 square meters, with engineering equipment, test modules and open collaboration areas to effectively help local and international innovation companies design, develop and test their products and solutions.
