“We are currently working with Jinshang Environmental Protection in Sichuan to build a world-class plant for sustainable aviation fuel.” Honeywell Characteristic Materials and Technology Group (referred to as Honeywell) vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific Liu Maoshu 28 in Beijing.
The first China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo opened in Beijing on the 28th. As one of the supporting activities, the China (Sichuan) Clean Energy International Promotion Conference was held in Beijing on the afternoon of the 28th. At the meeting, Liu Maoshu said that the project has been signed in Sichuan when sharing the experience of enterprises in developing business in Sichuan.
Media reports show that in May this year, Honeywell announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Sichuan Jinshang Environmental Protection, the two sides will build a sustainable aviation fuel industry base in Suining, Sichuan
province with an annual output of 300,000 tons. When completed, the project is expected to become one of the largest sustainable aviation fuel projects in western China.
The sustainable aviation fuel industrial base will use Honeywell process technology, catalysts and equipment to produce sustainable aviation fuel from kitchen waste oil and animal fat. “Honeywell’s Ecofining™ technology uses animal fats to produce jet fuel instead of jet kerosene, reducing carbon emissions by 80 percent compared to today’s jet fuel.” Liu Maoshu said.
“Emission reduction is the key point of energy transition, which is not only the requirement of China’s high-quality development, but also the focus of China’s international cooperation.” Liu Maoshu believes that building a world-class sustainable aviation fuel base will help open up ideas for clean energy transition. To carry out such clean energy technology layout in China is also a reflection of the broad cooperation opportunities between China and the United States in the field of clean energy.
In addition, Liu Maoshu also praised the investment environment in Sichuan: “We visited the Sichuan provincial People’s Government earlier, and the project was implemented in a very short time. We hope to see more deployment of similar energy projects in Sichuan in the near future.”
