Shanghai, April 13, 2023 – Comau has provided a highly intelligent welding solution for the main line of the Body in White of Hechuang Automotive Technology Co., LTD. (” Hechuang “) to ensure multi-model manufacturing and high-tempo production efficiency of new energy vehicles, effectively reducing production losses. The automated, highly flexible production system, which is deployed at Hetron’s Hangzhou production base, is not only fully compatible with the existing manufacturing platform, but can also randomly switch between four different model platforms and mass-produce the brand’s pure electric Smart Run Hetron A06 and Trendsmart Drive pure electric SUV Hetron Z03 at a beat efficiency of 60JPH.

Hetron Automotive focuses on the development of electric vehicles and is committed to reaching the younger generation of consumers in the Chinese market. In order to cater to the diverse product preferences of young user groups, Hechuang needs to develop a rich product series in a short period of time and carry out rapid product iteration. Comau engineers have ensured that this highly flexible welding line can meet the changing manufacturing needs of our customers in the future, and in addition to facilitating the smooth introduction, matching and expansion of innovative models, it can also support the flexible production of various models in the future.

The comprehensive solution is based on a customized Comau Opengate production system to provide highly flexible, high-precision body-in-white assembly and virtual commissioning technology. Comau has also added a flexible servo positioning mechanism to the conveyor system, reducing the production cycle while ensuring economies of scale and meeting the diversified needs of Hytron’s products. The operation rate of the whole line is more than 90%, and the annual output can reach 200,000 vehicles. The solution enables random mixing of up to six models, helping Hetron achieve true zero-loss production.
