A new electronic access system from Pielmagneto: the PITreader card unit, which can be used to manage machine access flexibly and securely. With the PITreader card unit, operators can now assign permissions on RFID transponders in the form of cards or stickers.
Machine operators have their respective permissions on the transponder and verify their identity on the PITreader card device in order to enter the plant or machine. In this way, users keep their industrial information secure and have greater flexibility in managing access rights. At the same time, it also meets the requirements of functional safety operation mode selection.
One key card, multiple functions
RFID transponders are available in free-write and pre-configured versions. The PITreader card has a transparent window, and when the card is held up, the user can still read the LED status indicator on the access control system. If the company already uses RFID-enabled cards, these cards can also be used with PITreader card units: in this case, users only need a single card to achieve multiple functions. This saves time for certification at the plant or machine, making it a very flexible and easy to manage solution. With the introduction of the PITreader S card unit, Peel Magnetics has also introduced a version that integrates the OPC UA standard for optimal security and connectivity.
Easy permission management
Administrators manage user Settings, mask lists and user data for Transponder keys, cards or stickers through a graphical interface on PIT Transponder Manager (PTM), Peel Magnetic’s corresponding software solution. With a pre-configured template, a single user’s permissions can be written to the RFID transponder in just a few steps. With the import function, you can quickly import information directly into the integrated database, saving a lot of time for administrators. If a company uses several card reader units, PitReaders can be organized using the User Authentication Service (UAS) software tool.
The PITreader unit can be used effectively in combination with the PNOZmulti 2, a configurable small controller, or the PSS4000, an automation system, to control access and secure mode of operation. As a result, a complete solution helps to achieve higher security in many processes.
