In order to seize the rapid development opportunities in various segments of robots, build a communication platform in the field of robots, and accelerate scientific and technological innovation in the robot industry, the Industrial Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with the Science and Technology and Economic Commission of Shanghai Pudong New Area and Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Co., LTD., On March 17, the 2023 Robot Science and Technology Innovation Forum and the second Zhangjiang Robot Ecological Summit were jointly held in Zhangjiang Science Hall. As invited companies, Liang Rui, President of ABB Robotics China, Wang Tong, head of Consumer goods and service Robotics business unit of ABB Robotics China, and Zhang Jiafan, head of ABB Robotics China Research Center, participated in the summit.
At the main opening ceremony of the summit, Shanghai Zhangjiang Robot Industry Alliance was established. ABB Robotics, as one of the members of the alliance, will continue to help the robot industry achieve production, learning, research, use and other innovation chains in Zhangjiang to promote technical exchanges. At the same time, the opening ceremony also held the unveiling ceremony of ABB Robot Empowerment Center. Xia Yuzhong, deputy director of the Science and Economic Committee of Pudong New Area, and Liang Rui, president of ABB Robotics Business in China, jointly unveiled the Empowerment Center. ABB’s Robot Empowerment Center is located in Zhangjiang Robot Valley and is expected to be operational in the second half of 2023.
This medical industry-focused empowerment center will make full use of ABB’s leading robotic automation technology and cutting-edge artificial intelligence research results, and work with more local companies and third-party institutions through efficient, sustainable and collaborative innovation to provide more comprehensive solutions for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies and continue to empower corporate innovation. This also means that ABB robots will go out of the factory,
actively respond to the rapidly changing market demand, layout the medical and health field, and constantly break through the technological boundaries, bringing unlimited possibilities.
On the afternoon of the same day, Wang Hong, deputy director of the first Department of Equipment of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, visited the newly put into operation ABB robot super factory. Featuring innovation, automation and flexibility, the Gigafactory achieves more flexible, faster and more efficient production and internal logistics through flexible automation. The new Open Innovation Center will also enable ABB Robotics to collaborate with partners and customers to develop innovative solutions that unlock more possibilities for flexible automation in new areas such as logistics, healthcare, food and beverage.
In addition, Dr. Zhang Jiafan, head of ABB Robotics China Research Center, delivered a keynote speech at the main forum of the summit, focusing on the theme of “Industrial robots moving towards the era of intelligence”, showcased the latest development achievements, practical applications and advantages of ABB robotics technology enabled by artificial intelligence, and showed the new possibilities opened up by virtual technology for automation applications. And put forward a new direction for the future development of industrial robot intelligence.
China’s automation industry is booming. Today, the medical and pharmaceutical industries are also accelerating automation change, ABB robots will help them use automation to improve efficiency, optimize workflow, actively explore new medical technology, so that people are happy to embrace the changes brought by technology.
