This time, NIDEco Power Systems (formerly NIDEC Toyo), a group company of NIDECO, has developed a new clutch control module for hybrid electric vehicles.
Despite increasing demand for pure electric vehicles (BEVs) due to tightening environmental policies, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) have maintained a high market share due to issues such as charging infrastructure and battery capacity. This product uses the motor as the power source when driving at low speed and accelerating, and the engine as the power source when cruising at high speed. It is a powertrain of a “strong hybrid system”, which acts as a switching clutch when the power is switched from the motor to the engine.
Nidco Power Systems has a long history of aluminum die casting and advanced technology in linear solenoid valves for hydraulic control, solenoid valves for switching hydraulic switches, and the production of control valves for continuously variable transmission (CVT) and automotive parts housings. The solenoid valve of the clutch control unit is made of resin, which is 35% lighter than existing Nidec powertrain products. In addition, die castings can be designed flexibly according to the function and layout required by the customer.
In the future, NIDEC Powertrains will continue to be a powerful integrated motor manufacturer group in the world, developing products that take full advantage of highly advanced parts processing technology to provide innovative solutions for the rapid development of automobiles.
