As onsemi concludes 2023 on a high note, we are very pleased with our achievements over the past year. We are grateful to all of our employees and customers for supporting us along the way to continue to live the concept of “smart technology, better future”, and ON has been committed to developing smart power and sensing technology to solve complex challenges.
This year, On launched a number of new industrial products and solutions that allow us to continue to put innovation and vision into practice. Our continuous innovation is also recognized by the power electronics industry. Here are some of the highlights of our 2023 achievements.
With the rapidly growing demand for high-power system design, silicon carbide (SiC) devices are recognized as the technology of choice for many industry applications, and having simulation tools that deliver the right design results the first time is critical to reducing time to market and maximizing system performance. On Semiconductor’s SiC online simulation tools, including the Elite Power Simulation Tool and the PLECS Model Self-generation tool, are designed to help power electronics engineers quickly evaluate and select EliteSiC products for specific applications. These tools enable system-level simulation in the early stages of the development cycle, providing valuable insight and information for complex power electronics applications. Power electronics engineers can obtain accurate simulation data to select EliteSiC products according to specific application requirements, eliminating the cost and time required for hardware manufacturing and testing, which saves time.
Industrial system-level simulation tools using the PLECS model are usually only suitable for hard switches, and the simulation of soft switch applications is very inaccurate. On’s industry-leading PLECS model is suitable for both hard and soft switching applications, such as DC-DC LLC and CLLC resonators, dual active Bridges and phase-shifted full Bridges.
If you want to greatly improve the accuracy of your simulation results, you can use the PLECS Model Self-generation tool to build customized PLECS models for your specific application. The tool is suitable for soft/hard switch applications, boundary modeling, and custom parasitic environments, and supports the creation of virtual prototypes.
The Elite Power simulation tool and PLECS model self-generation tool have been selected by AspenCore as “Most promising 3rd Generation Semiconductor Technology of the Year” at the 2023 Global Electronic Achievement Awards (WEAA).
