Siemens today signed a memorandum of Understanding with Hesteel Group Co., LTD. (HEsteel Group) to comprehensively deepen cooperation in the field of digitalization and low-carbon. The two sides will expand cooperation in the fields of digital factories, energy optimization, green and low-carbon production and services, deeply integrate advanced digital technologies with steel production processes, and inject new momentum into the intelligent and green development of the steel industry.

According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate to explore new paths for the green and low-carbon development of the metallurgical industry and promote the application of Siemens process system engineering modeling technology in the WisCarbon Carbon neutral digital platform of Hesteel Group. At the same time, the two sides will cooperate to develop energy system analysis and evaluation optimization tools, tap the potential of energy conservation and emission reduction of the whole process of the metallurgical industry, and create an industry model in the digital management of the carbon footprint and carbon data of the whole process. Based on Siemens’ digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator, the two sides will further expand cooperation in the steel industry’s product structure upgrading, digital factory construction, scientific operation and maintenance, enterprise digital management, and additive manufacturing technology development and application. Taking the signing of the memorandum of cooperation as an opportunity, the two sides will set up a joint project team, create a normal communication and exchange mechanism, and ensure the smooth landing of cooperation projects.

Hesteel Group is a leader in the global steel material manufacturing and comprehensive service industry. In 2016, Siemens and Hesteel Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement to carry out in-depth cooperation in digital factories, intelligent manufacturing, industrial Internet of Things and other aspects. In 2019, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the field of additive manufacturing research and development and industrialization.
