Siemens’ first native digital factory in the world, the new factory of Siemens Numerical Control (Nanjing) Co., LTD. (SNC) was successfully selected as one of the “Top Ten Technological Advances in 2022 World Intelligent Manufacturing”!
The list was released by the International Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance and the Intelligent Manufacturing Society of China Association for Science and Technology during the “2022 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference” to recognize advanced scientific and technological achievements that have played a leading role in promoting the innovation and development of the manufacturing industry.
Dr. Song Xiao, President and CEO of Siemens Greater China, said: “The new SNC plant is a successful example of Siemens’ digital and low-carbon ‘two-wheel drive’ to empower the industry with high quality and sustainable development. Through the
construction and operation of the new SNC plant, we will provide valuable experience for Chinese industrial enterprises to explore the future of manufacturing, and inject innovative momentum into the industrial transformation and upgrading of the Yangtze River Delta region and even the whole of China.”
In June 2022, SNC’s new plant was officially put into operation in Nanjing. It has not only made leaps in terms of production capacity, production efficiency and time to market, but also become a benchmark for green and low-carbon factories. Based on the “digital twin”, Siemens has completed the design, simulation and verification of the factory in the virtual world before the factory breaks ground. In the physical construction and operation phase, Siemens further optimizes the production process, providing real-time and reliable data support for production and management. The new plant will reduce time to market by nearly 20%, nearly triple production capacity, increase production efficiency by 20%, and reduce carbon emissions by more than 3,300 tons per year.
