Worldskills Competition is known as the “World Skills Olympics”, and its competitive level represents the world’s advanced level of vocational skills development today. Recently, all 62 events of the Worldskills 2022 Special Competition were concluded. The Chinese delegation won a total of 21 gold MEDALS, 3 silver MEDALS, 4 bronze MEDALS and 5 MEDALS in 34 events, ranking first in the gold medal table, and the total number of gold MEDALS was the best in the history of the single competition.
In the electrical equipment competition, ABB Electric helped the Chinese delegation to win the title for a second time. Wang Dajiang, a technical expert from ABB Smart Building and smart power technology promotion team, was the leader of the Chinese team in this competition. Yu Shouan, the gold medal winner, was from Yancheng Technician College in Jiangsu Province.
The electrical device project in the competition is a competition project in which players complete the installation of distribution boxes, switches, cables, cable slots and Bridges in specially designed commercial or household electrical devices by applying traditional and emerging technologies, as well as the circuit design, installation, programming and debugging of commercial or household intelligent control systems (such as KNX, etc.).
The electrical installation project adopts the KNX intelligent building control system to complete the lighting, scene and temperature control of intelligent buildings through the operation of intelligent panels. Players need to design their own power distribution system, control lines and programming according to the functional requirements of the competition. At the competition site, Wang Dajiang, the ABB electrical expert as the head coach, formulated a practical competition plan for the players
according to the corresponding changes in the competition topics, ensuring the stable play of the players and the success of the gold.
A total of 24 countries and regions signed up for the 7 competition projects and electrical equipment projects hosted by Austria in this special Worldskills Competition, which is extremely competitive. Especially compared with the previous Worldskills Competition, this special competition has adjusted a number of competition rules, increasing a lot of uncertainty in the competition scene.
In the face of various adverse factors, ABB technical expert Wang Dajiang and the expert group repeatedly worked out the competition plan carefully, adjusted the sprint stage training program, and effectively improved the ability of players to respond to various challenges in the field. During the competition, the Chinese team calmly faced the competition, using high-quality craftsmanship, exquisite details, and Chinese speed to retain the title of the project with the highest score.
As a global technology leader in the field of electrical and automation, ABB Electric has been actively carrying out school-enterprise cooperation since 2010, using emerging technologies to create a campus electrical digital practical training scene, opening up the three functions of practical application, practical training teaching and scientific research and innovation, jointly cultivating electrical and digital composite skills talents, and forging China’s “originality power”. Lay a solid foundation for China’s high-quality and sustainable development.
At the 45th WorldSkills Competition in 2019, competitors from 40 countries and regions competed in electrical devices. ABB technical expert Wang Dajiang served as the head coach of the Chinese team in the electrical equipment project of the World Skills Competition, participated in the execution and on-site command, and led Chinese players to win the world championship.
