Audio Precision®, a division of Axiometrix Solutions, today released version 8.0 of its highly advanced APx500 measurement software. Version 8.0 optimizes software performance, reduces unnecessary calculations, and speeds up program execution. This upgrade will significantly save test time and speed up the reporting of important measurements such as THD+N.
“V8.0, with our regular improvements to the APx500 software, allows users to take advantage of the scalability and efficiency of their measurements, saving up to 40% of their test time, “says Daniel Knighten, Managing Director, Audio Precision. This upgrade reinforces our philosophy of providing a continuous improvement program that not only saves our customers time and money, but also increases the value of their existing and new analyzers.”
The latest version includes an update to Bose® SoneTrac that allows users to take SoneTrac measurements in the same way as Bose to experience more precise control over signal processing when detecting abnormal tone (R&B) defects.
Version 8.0 also allows users to obtain THD+N results using FastSweep excitation in continuous sweep, acoustic response, and speaker production tests. As the name suggests, this extremely fast step sweep signal has several advantages over sine (chirp) signals with logarithmic sweeps, including the ability to sweep from low to high or high to low frequencies, relatively few transient ripples at low or high frequencies, support for measuring harmonics more than 20 times, and precise control over the number of discrete points used in the measurement.
“Audio Precision’s strength lies in offering high-end audio analysis, audio measurement software, and a wide range of modules, options, and accessories to support analog and digital audio measurement, “adds Dan Knighten. Our version 8.0 software is designed to give engineers the analytical tools they need to support innovative product design and manufacturing.”
As part of its upgrade path, Audio Precision’s recent software updates include V7.1 and V7.0. The V7.1 software release includes more integration of units of measure, which improves the display of input units. Introduce new metrics that allow input signals to be expressed in native units of physical quantities or in Volts, FS (full-scale), Pascals, or Amps; V7.0 implements FastSweep applications in open-loop test scenarios, such as smart speaker testing.
To ensure that Audio Precision customers don’t miss out on the latest software upgrades, we also offer a software subscription service for one, three or five year subscriptions. Users receive optional access to the APx measurement software (excluding PESQ and PLQA) for free during the subscription period.
