The modular safety relay myPNOZ from Peel Magneto was “introduced” to the market in early February last year and has been widely recognized by customers and award judges: The myPNOZ can be customized to the user’s requirements in batch scale1, and as an easy-to-use device, it can be flexibly adapted in the application, ensuring reliable monitoring of the user’s security functions.
Both the Hermes Award, known as the “Industrial Oscar”, the German Innovation Award (GIA) and the International Red Dot Award have recognized the innovative spirit of the personalized safety relay myPNOZ. Users do not need programming knowledge to easily create personalized security solutions for Industry 4.0 with the online tool myPNOZ Creator.
The Hermes Prize jury considered myPNOZ to be a “ready-to-install and fully customizable system that is an efficient and safe solution for mechanical and equipment engineering as well as other sectors”, hence the nomination of myPNOZ for the Hermes Prize.
The level of innovation was also recognized by the German Innovation Award, which selected myPNOZ and Pilz as winners in the category “Electronic Technology”. For a jury made up of independent experts from different disciplines such as industry
and science, being user-centric and innovative compared to previous solutions was the main reason for myPNOZ’s award.
myPNOZ’s innovative design was also recognized by the Red Dot Award, “The winning products demonstrate deep creativity.” And some of its designs surprise people in terms of form and function. The quality of the product matched with the level of innovation means it is a worthy winner of the Red Dot Award.” Says Peter Zec, Ph.D., founder and CEO of Red Dot.
It was impressive before it hit the market
“As soon as we heard about myPNOZ, we wanted to try it out,” says Andreas Dorer, technical manager at Micado Austria, “and I was already impressed by it even before it was officially launched.” The company, located in East Tyrol, is active in product development, tool and equipment manufacturing and automation technology. While Pilz is announcing the launch of a new generation of safety relays, Micado is developing a safety concept for a prototype inline measurement system that will be used in the future at several of the customer’s plants around the world. myPNOZ not only gave Micado the functionality it needed for its application, but also impressed the company with its personalized, customized, easy to use features: pre-configured and ready to install delivery. All this was done even before the official launch. This paid off for the company, and Micado was also the first to order the myPNOZ safety relay from Pilz Austria. For Pilz, it is also the customer’s recognition of their latest innovations.
