• Help build Zhoushan green petrochemical base with green innovative energy technology
• Reuse of the project’s refining and chemical syngas to reduce energy costs and emissions
• Eight sets of air separation compressor units are provided to ensure the efficient and stable operation of the project
PC104-DPIO Recently, Siemens Energy and Hangzhou Steam Turbine Power Group Co., LTD., in Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base with an annual output of 40 million tons of refining and chemical integration project (” Zhoushan Project “) three SGT5-2000E gas turbine mixture combustion commissioning. This means that Siemens Energy’s gas turbines for the project will be able to burn both natural gas and a mixture of natural gas and refining and chemical synthesis gas, thereby providing the Zhoushan project with the required power and process steam in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way.

The composition of syngas is complex and the combustion organization PC104-DPIO is difficult, which puts forward extremely high technical requirements for the gas turbine itself, so few gas turbines in the world can achieve this technology. Through long-term R&D investment and rich project execution experience, Siemens Energy has achieved stable operation of blended gas combustion in Zhoushan project, and the proportion of hydrogen mixing has reached 20%, which not only reduces the energy cost of the project, but also reduces exhaust emissions, thus creating new value for the project.

PC104-DPIO Yao Zhenguo, global Senior vice President of Siemens Energy, said that the global industrial sector accounts for 30% of the global greenhouse gas emissions, so the low-carbon transformation of the industrial sector will play a very key role in achieving the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. The successful commissioning of Zhoushan Gas Turbine for hydrogen-doped combustion once again proves that through technological innovation and cooperation, Siemens Energy can help customers in the industrial field to improve energy efficiency and optimize production processes, so as to effectively meet the challenges of decarbonization in “difficult emission reduction” industries.
In addition to the three SGT5-2000E gas turbines, Siemens Energy has also partnered with Hangzhou Hangyang Co., Ltd. to supply eight STC-GV200 compressors for the Zhoushan project, including the world’s largest class of integral geared compressor STC-GV200 compressors. PC104-DPIO The compressor unit is driven by eight sets of SST-600EP extractor condensed-steam turbine units, among which the compressor unit single-stage impeller efficiency can reach 90% or more, the energy efficiency is in the international leading level, and the operation energy consumption of the project is effectively reduced.
The first and second phase of Zhoushan project is planned to have an annual refining capacity of 40 million tons/year, with an annual output of 10.4 million tons of aromatics and 4.2 million tons of ethylene, which is the largest refining and chemical project in China and the fifth largest in the world, and also the largest single industry project in the world.
