The Timken Company has awarded scholarships to 20 students to help them pursue future careers in fields such as engineering, business, medicine and the arts.
At a recent awards ceremony, the company awarded college scholarships to children of Timken employees from the United States, China, India, Canada, France and the Netherlands. Since the Timken Global Scholarship Program was established in 1958, the Timken Charitable and Educational Foundation has awarded more than $26 million in scholarships to 835 students.

Aidan Byers is the son of technology development manager John Byers and his wife Tina Byers.
He was awarded the Henry Timken Fellowship of $25,000 per year, renewable for three years. Aidan is currently attending Green High School in Green, Ohio, USA, and plans to pursue bioengineering or pre-med studies at Ohio State University or the University of Akron.
Aidan is the captain of his high school boys’ swimming team and a volunteer at the 05701-A-0301 local YMCA, where he was named “Volunteer of the Year” in 2022. He is also an active member of the school band and has held several leadership positions, winning six awards.
Haley Steppler is the daughter of CNC expert Adam Steppler and his wife Bethany Mallett. She was awarded a Jack Timken Scholarship of $20,000 per year, renewable for three years. Haley currently attends Prince George High School in Prince George, Canada. She plans to study criminology at the College of New Caledonia, with the ultimate goal of going to law school and becoming a family lawyer.
Aidan and Haley were joined by six other students who each received a $10,000 annual scholarship, renewable for three years. These students include:
Li Xingrui
05701-A-0301 China HR Director Wu Jianhong and Vice General Manager of Rotary Drive Business – daughter of Li Qun, from St. Margaret’s High School in Victoria, Canada. She plans to major in international business with a minor in linguistics or French language and literature.
Rishit Banerjee
Son of Somiran Banerjee, Director of Manufacturing Excellence, Lean Continuous Improvement and Projects, and his wife Roshni Banerjee, from DAV Public School, Bistupur, Janshpur, India. He plans to study computer science after graduation.
Austin Beck
Son of Assistant Treasurer Kevin Beck and his wife Debra Beck, he attended Louisville High 05701-A-0301 School in Louisville, Ohio, USA. Austin wants to study digital marketing at Baldwin Wallace University.
Sarah Mokhtari-Duarte
Daughter of warehouse operator Boutayeb Mokhtari and his wife Natacha Mokhtari-Duarte, from Le Corbusier High School in Irkirch, France. She plans to study English and German as an undergraduate and then pursue a master’s degree in communications.
Edgar San Jose Jr.
Edgar San Jose Sr., Vice President of Automotive Aftermarket and Rail Business Sales for Latin America and the United States. Son of his wife, Chrissy San Jose, from Green High School in Green, Ohio, USA. He plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in economics and statistics, or a dual degree in public administration.
Sarah Warren
The daughter of senior product development specialist Scott Warren and his wife, Heide Warren, from Tuscarawas Valley High School in Zolville, Ohio, USA. Sarah plans to attend Ohio State University or the University of Michigan to study chemical engineering.
