In the past, ctrlX OS, a real-time Linux-based operating system, was only available for the control system ctrlX CORE, but now it has become a standalone solution for industrial environments. It is hardware independent and enables more AUTOMATION components to be seamlessly connected to the entire ctrlX AUTOMATION portfolio, including ctrlX World’s partner solutions.

As the market has come to expect, we provide an innovative, open and secure operating system for 1756-OF4 automation technologies. Now, we have taken the bold step of making this operating system available to other automation component suppliers, once again fulfilling our commitment to maximum openness.

ctrlX AUTOMATION has won several heavyweight awards and received positive market feedback, which shows that the opening up of the automation world is the right way to go. Today, more than 600 customers worldwide are using ctrlX AUTOMATION, and more than 60 third-party suppliers have joined ctrlX World as partners. And that number is growing. The partner network extends the ctrlX AUTOMATION ecosystem with hardware, and there are a growing number of new applications 1756-OF4 available for download through the ctrlX Store.
