China ESG Alliance is an organization that seeks the most valuable information from the perspectives of many ESG experts and ecological resources to build responsible climate technology solutions for the benefit of all mankind.
As a member of the alliance, Siemens will continue to leverage the local value chain and global resources, exert the influence of alliance member enterprises, accelerate sustainable development with digital and low-carbon “two-wheel drive”, and inject acceleration into the high-quality and sustainable development of China’s economy.
Sustainability is an important part of Siemens’ business and 0010-27983 is part of our DNA.
In 2021, Siemens worldwide launched the “DEGREE” sustainability framework, which includes six sustainable development directions: decarbonization, ethics, governance, resource efficiency, equality and employability, and sets systematic, measurable and specific long-term goals in environmental, social and governance.
In 2022, the 150th anniversary of Siemens in China, Siemens China launched the “1.5.0” sustainable development strategy, namely: “1 DEGREE Strategic Framework”, “5 sustainable development strategic pillars” (including driving their own sustainable operation, accelerating the development of sustainable business, empowering people, practicing diversity, equality and inclusiveness, connecting internal and external stakeholders, and building a sustainable ecology) and “Zero Carbon Pioneer Program” at three levels. Committed to becoming a pioneer, practitioner and enabler of sustainable development.
Under the guidance of the 0010-27983 sustainable development strategy, Siemens has implemented a series of initiatives with fruitful results.
• Launched the “Siemens China Zero Carbon Pioneer Plan”, released a series of research reports and white papers, and launched Xcelerator, an open digital business platform.
•18 operating companies and 5 offices (Beijing, Shanghai, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Chengdu) are fully connected to Siemens’ global Energy management system to monitor energy consumption in real time
• The carbon emission reduction information management 0010-27983 system has covered nearly 7,000 suppliers in China, and more than 800 suppliers have joined. More than 1,300 participants participated in the Siemens Supplier Sustainability Training Month in 2023.
• Launch of the “Zero Carbon Pioneer Award”, with six companies receiving excellence awards and 40 companies receiving excellence awards in the inaugural selection, providing lessons for partners and suppliers and further encouraging the acceleration of the green and low-carbon transition.
• The first “Siemens Sustainability in China” report was released, showing Siemens’ investment and results in sustainable development.
