“Robot man-made robot”, this sci-fi scene has become a reality in Shanghai. Located in the Shanghai Robot Industrial Park in Baoshan District, the third phase of the Shanghai Fanuc Smart Factory project has been put into use for nearly half a year, and has successfully achieved “production as soon as it is put into production”, and strives to exceed 10 billion yuan of orders this year. Countless industrial robots will walk down this intelligent factory assembly line, driving the continuous growth of the industrial scale and efficiency of Shanghai Robot Industrial Park, supporting the city’s intelligent manufacturing quality and efficiency, and helping the new quality productivity to accelerate.
853-049542-173 “Small and medium-sized enterprises with their own strengths can focus on the layout of core components and other subdivisions, forming an innovative symbiotic relationship between big fish and small fish.” Liu Hong, general manager of Shanghai Robot Industrial Park, understands this.
The density of industrial robots is often regarded as an important indicator to measure the degree of automated production in a country or region. Shanghai is the city with the highest density of industrial robots in China, which has reached 383 units per 10,000 people. As the first robot named park in Shanghai, Shanghai Robot Industrial Park is regarded as a sample to see through. Relevant data show that of the 281 enterprises it has attracted, about 30% are directly related to robots, and most of the rest are indirectly related to the robot industry, and are also related to various application scenarios in the robot industry.
With the rise of new generative artificial intelligence (AIGC) technologies such as ChatGPT and Sora, the robot industry is ushering in a window period for upgrading and crossing development. How to better combine AIGC and robot entities, aim at the next “disruptive innovation”, and create a robot and intelligent manufacturing industry with distinctive characteristics and a jump in energy level has become a new test for the park.
853-049542-173 Liu Hong believes that this needs to focus on the layout of key links and core components. For example, for the current hot humanoid robots, algorithms, vision systems, perception systems, etc., are important links that need to grab the layout. To this end, the park is continuing to promote the establishment of intelligent manufacturing research centers, strengthen technical support, etc., and promote enterprises to make breakthroughs in technological innovation and product upgrading on the basis of targeting the introduction of “special students” in key segments. Taking Fanuc as an example, under the best efforts of the park, the cross-border cooperation with Shanghai University to complete the “demonstration application of intelligent workshop for precision machining of passenger car parts” project, skillfully borrowing the scientific research strength of colleges and universities to solve the jam points on the assembly line.
Under the opportunity of a new round of planning adjustment, the park has dug out many new industrial Spaces. Combined with the transformation of Star and Tan Yang industrial “village in the city” and the “Industrial upstairs” project of Liandong U Valley Robot Innovation Port, the park is expected to add more than 2.3 million square meters of industrial space and achieve “doubling” of development space.
Next, the park will focus on typical application scenarios and user needs, select a group of key robot fields with solid foundation, wide application coverage and strong radiation driving effect, establish a scene application “supply base and demand base”, gather core advantageous resources, and organize and promote the orderly development of “robot +” application actions.
