From April 13 to 16, the 18th Annual Automation Academic Technology Conference sponsored by the China Petroleum and Chemical Automation Application Association was held in Chuzhou, Anhui Province, and the “2023 China Petroleum and chemical Automation Industry Science and Technology Award and Patent Award Award Conference” was held at the same time.
Hangzhou Hollysys Automation Co., Ltd. participated in the research and development of “SCADA System development and application of refined oil pipeline based on independent chip and operating system” won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award, and “Key technology and application of intelligent monitoring and early warning for safe operation of Natural gas Transmission Pipeline” won the second prize of Technology Invention Award.

The project of “SCADA System Development and Product Pipeline Application based on independent chip and operating system” was jointly completed by the South China Branch of National Petroleum and Natural Gas Pipeline Network Group Co., LTD and Hangzhou Hollysys Automation Co., LTD. In view of the problems of the national refined oil pipeline industrial control system, such as “jam neck” risk, slow running speed, and inability to meet the requirements of high temperature working environment, the two sides jointly developed the first domestic set of independent chip and operating system 100% domestic refined oil pipeline SCADA system, the system performance meets the functional needs of the industry, and realizes the goal of autonomous controllability, safety, reliability, and efficient availability.
The main innovation achievements of the project are as follows:
• The system is based on the trusted computing 3.0 architecture, and the Loongson security encryption chip is built into the main controller, which completes the comprehensive domestic breakthrough of the hardware components of the SCADA system of refined oil pipelines, and realizes the innovative application of trusted computing technology in the field of industrial embedded control. In the project, the domestic “Kirin” operating system platform was first applied to the control of refined oil pipelines, achieving the first in China. The chip and operating system are fully localized, effectively resolving the risk of “stuck neck”;
• To solve the problem of long system response time, the project evaluated the hardware architecture, signal flow, data space and other parts of the system, adopted clear constraints on hardware selection, optimized system architecture design and other methods to effectively shorten the response time and improve the system running speed;
• Considering the strict requirement that the SCADA system of refined oil pipeline should work in a high temperature environment, the project tried a variety of heat dissipation schemes, combined with the thermal simulation results, to solve the problem of excessive temperature rise of the main control processor, and effectively ensure the stable operation of the system at 70℃ environment.
The project obtained 10 authorized invention patents, 10 national software Copyrights, and participated in the formulation of 4 national standards. In October 2022, it passed the achievement appraisal of authoritative 1769-L24ER-QB1B institutions, and concluded that “the overall technology of the achievement has reached the international advanced level, among which the whole life cycle of the industrial control system, the trusted computing technology of dual-system parallel and the deterministic real-time communication protocol technology based on the concurrent master-slave polling mechanism are at the international leading level.” The system has been running efficiently and stably in the refined oil pipeline network in South China, which has the largest volume of refined oil conveying in China, and has brought considerable economic benefits to users.
